Tell Your Alderman: Support Reparations for Chicago Survivors of Police Torture

Chicago has unfortunately had a long history of police violence. The city has lived through not just abuse of power, but outright torture.

Too often, police have been allowed to act with impunity. Now, survivors of some of those acts of violence and torture are seeking reparations.

Demand Chicago take steps to repair the damage done by passing a reparations ordinance for survivors of police torture currently before the city council.

Send a letter to the aldermen who have yet to come out in support by filling in your info below.

Dear Alderman,
I’m writing to urge you to express your support for the Reparations ordinance that would providee counseling, education, and financial compensation to Chicagoans who survived police torture and abuse under Jon Burge and to ask you to call upon the Mayor to do the same.
We need to address our history, repair the damage done, and teach about what happened so it’s never repeated.
Thank you.
